Input Device in Computers

  1. Piece of computer hardware equipment used to provide and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer or other information appliance.
  2.  Input devices can be classified according to:
  • modality of input (e.g. mechanical motion, audio, visual, etc.)
  • the input is discrete (e.g. key presses) or continuous (e.g. a mouse's position, though digitized into a discrete quantity, is fast enough to be considered continuous)
  • the number of degrees of freedom involved (e.g. two-dimensional traditional mice, or three-dimensional navigators designed for CAD applications)

 Five examples of Input Devices
MOUSE:
Electronic Device used to transmit data and commands to a computer.

BLUETOOTH ADAPTER: is a proprietary Open Wirelesstechnology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short wavelength radio transmissions) from fixed and mobile devices, creating Personal Area Networks (PANs) with high levels of security.

 CAMERA:
Computer camera used for fluid images for user-friendly web chatting.

 GAMING DEVICES:
As Computer Gaming gained popularity, many gaming devices were created to enhance our gaming experience.

 KEYBOARD:
In computing, a keyboard is typewriter keyboard, which uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to act as mechanical levers or electronic switches. After punch cards and paper tape, interaction via teletype-style keyboards became the main input device for computers.
